The Best Free Anti-Virus software
The best free anti-virus software is not always the one that is best known. I have been using this software for over ten years. It’s called Avast. I have found them to be always up to date. So up to date that I have seen them update their software several times within a day.
Free means Free
Did I mention that this software is free? No, not for an introductory period but free forever. Also if you have more than one device needing protection free for all of them. Do you have an android or a Mac device? Yes free for those devices as well.

Impressive Phishing Protection
In last year’s testing, Avast turned in a so-so performance in my antiphishing test, with a detection rate lagging 25 percentage points behind that of phish-smasher Norton. The new edition promised enhanced phishing protection, so I was happy to put it to the test.What a success! Avast came very close to tying with Norton, just one percentage point behind, the same as Kaspersky. Bitdefender is the only recent product to actually beat Norton in this test. Avast handily outperformed the phishing protection built into Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.

Real-Time Protection
Oh yes, did I mention that this is real-time protection? I have had it stop me in my tracks several times as I was trying to get onto a website. “It protects in real time and has stopped my computer from being infected.” isn’t this something you’d like to be able to say.
