They have many names, submarines or subs, hoagies or heroes whatever their name they make a perfect no-cook summer meal.

Store bought Sub Sandwiches can be found at most supermarkets.  It is very easy to make these store-bought sandwiches your own in no time at all.

The Sub sandwiches you can buy are already populated with a variety of meats and cheeses. Add veggies and condiments, a side dish to the sandwich and you have created a great summer meal.

What You will need:

  1. A store-bought sub sandwich.
  2. Additional meats(if needed) lunch meats, bacon, etc.
  3. Additional cheeses(if needed)
  4. Sliced tomatoes
  5. Sliced onions, red, sweet or Vidalia
  6. Pickles, sweet, dill or bread and butter
  7. Sliced olives, Spanish, black, or Kalamata
  8. Your favorite peppers(from mild to wild)
  9. Your favorite lettuce, torn or shredded, or baby greens, or spinach
  10. Mayonnaise, Italian dressing, olive oil, balsamic vinegar,
  11. Mustard, yellow, spicy brown mustard, or Dijon
  12. Salt, pepper, more seasonings

Make it your way

Making up the sandwich will be an adventure you can share with the family. The options are limitless. Serve up the sub or have your guests add their favorites to their sub to create a one of a kind sub sandwich.

Side dishes can range from store-bought salads(like macaroni, pasta, potato),a simple box salad(suddenly salad), or a favorite homemade potato, pasta, or macaroni salad. It all depends on how much or how little cooking you want to do.
