Barbecue Steak topping
Barbecue steak topping is something extra special. This is not a barbecue sauce and it’s not a basting sauce. This is a recipe for a topping that takes equal footing with the meat that it goes on. This topping is perfect when your steak or chicken needs a little extra to push it over the top. It works great on meats that are just plain grilled. No need to marinate your meat. I developed it for use over tri-tip steaks but it works great on chicken. Every time I have served it, it has been a big hit.
All Dehydrated Onions – Amazon.com
The recipe is really simple, four ingredients in a saucepan heated until it all comes together and slowly boils down to the finished product. The ingredients are dehydrated onions, barbecue sauce, molasses, and water.
I like that the onions as they hydrate absorb the barbecue sauce and water. They come out of the saucepan with a deep sweet smoky flavor from the barbecue sauce and yet still have a chopped onion structure.
